Course description


It is just possible to move into a subsidised flat under particular conditions. Therefore, an application for registration should be sent to the Office for Housing and Migration.


As part of the processing of your application, the private room requirement (concept: 1 room per individual, a different living-room is not provided) and the seriousness of the housing search will be determined. The seriousness is categorised on the basis of a points table. Depending upon the level of income, registration stands for an optimum of 2 years from the date of the choice.


During this period, you can browse for flats on SOWON and apply. The 5 applicants with the greatest seriousness will then receive a written offer of accommodation (nomination) with the contact details of the property managers to see the accommodation. The landlords then decide who gets the flat.


You can submit your application online on SOWON or using the paper type. You can find more details on online applications in the leaflet "Online housing application" and in the explanatory video "Online housing application".


After registration (notice), you will be shown all offered subsidised flats on SOWON that match your home. You can request up to three flats at the very same time. You can find an introduction of the housing search through SOWON in the leaflet "Housing Search Online".


Munich Model flats are not provided on SOWON, however are allocated directly by the property managers. You can discover current housing offers on residential or commercial property portals such as ImmobilienScout24.

Prerequisites

Processing time
