PUBG Update Features Overview

Apex Legends made context-aware pings popular, and PUBG has now added a very similar system in its latest update.

Press and hold the middle mouse button to open a radial ping wheel that lets you mark loot, call out enemy locations, request ammunition, or suggest a new squad position.

Ping messages appear on the left side of the HUD, and certain pings also drop a marker on your map so teammates can see exactly where you're pointing.

The enemy pings are context-sensitive: they indicate whether a target is close, medium or far away and show an approximate distance in metres. Ammo requests will include the specific ammo type for the weapon you currently have equipped.

The wheel contains eight selectable messages plus a central ping action, giving a compact set of quick-communication options without needing voice chat.

Overall, the feature aims to make non-verbal coordination much easier for teams who don’t have microphones or prefer quick visual cues.

The latest update introduces a powerful new sidearm,

a mechanic for scaling obstacles,

and a vehicle capable of traversing land and water.

This high-caliber pistol delivers greater impact per shot compared to standard sidearms,

though its increased recoil demands skillful handling.

It is available across all battlegrounds.

Additionally, a communication system reminiscent of popular battle royale titles has been implemented,

enhancing team coordination without reliance on voice chat.

A new mobility mechanic, ledge grabbing, makes city traversal much smoother.

You can now jump and latch onto roofs, fences and other obstacles to cross between buildings or reach spots you couldn't before.

To use it, hold the space bar after a jump or vault — tapping space while mid-air works too if your timing's right.

Also added is the BRDM-2, an amphibious vehicle that replaces the armored UAZ.

The BRDM-2 must be called in as a care package by firing a flare gun, and it can travel on both land and water.

It's heavily armored and fitted with wheels that cannot be damaged, though occupants and their squad are unable to fire weapons while inside.

The Desert Eagle (Deagle), the BRDM-2 and the new ledge-grab feature are all demonstrated in the video at the top of the post.
